BSREM Frequently Asked Questions

What is BSREM?

BSREM means Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management. It is an academic degree program in the Philippines designed primarily for individuals intending to pursue professional real estate brokerage practice under the framework of RA 9646 and related real estate laws. The program also provides foundational knowledge in appraisal, consultancy, taxation, land documentation, real estate economics, and other related areas of the real estate industry.

While students are exposed to concepts related to property management, investment analysis, and real estate development, the degree itself is not necessarily a legal requirement for those specific fields and professions.

Can second-degree students finish BSREM faster?

Yes. Second-degree students and transferees may complete BSREM faster depending on credited subjects from their previous Transcript of Records. Business-related graduates and MBA holders may qualify for an accelerated program of study, subject to institutional assessment and residency requirements.

Is BSREM available for OFWs and international students?

Yes. PhilCenter welcomes OFWs, international students, and foreign-based learners who wish to study and gain knowledge in Philippine real estate practice, law, taxation, documentation, and management.

However, applicants are advised that the professional practice of real estate brokerage in the Philippines is regulated by Philippine law, and licensure and practice rights may be limited to Filipino citizens in accordance with existing laws, rules, and regulations.

How do I know how many BSREM subjects I need to take?

Applicants must submit their Transcript of Records for assessment. PhilCenter will issue a personalized academic advising document showing credited subjects, remaining subjects, and the proposed completion plan.
